Celebrities Love Their Mustangs

People young and old have been drawn to the iconic Mustang in both its traditional and contemporary designs. As such, it should come as no surprise that many of today’s celebrities are proud owners of one or more Mustang models. Like most Mustang fans in Dearborn, the following celebrities haven’t lost sight of what’s truly great about Mustang cars. Former late night TV host Jay Leno is but one of many celebrities who has a passion for vehicles. Hearsay has it he drove to work in a different car daily. His impressive auto collection includes a 1965 Shelby Mustang GT 350, a true collector’s item.

ford 150 dearbornPatrick Dempsey, American film star/race car driver, is the proud owner of a 1965 mustang dearborn Coupe. An avid vintage and sports car collector, Dempsey has a passion for Mustangs. In 2013, the film star raced the Mustang FR500C in the Grand-Am Road Racing KONI series. Actor Charlie Sheen is yet another Mustang fan, owning several makes and models over the years to include a classic 1966 Ford Mustang GT and a 1968 Shelby Mustang. At one time the GT was displayed at the Galpin Auto Sports custom dealership located in Van Nuys, CA.

ford 150 dearbornBefore taking office as President of the United States, former President Bill Clinton possessed a 1967 Ford Mustang Convertible, which, unfortunately, had to be left in Arkansas upon his transition to the White House. Hearsay has it that actor/comedian Tim Allen owns a $50,000 custom design Mustang that can accelerate from 0-60 mph in as little as 4.9 seconds. The car can supposedly reach ¼ mile in approximately 12.4 seconds, achieving maximum speed of 184 mph.

ford 150 dearbornWorld famous song rapper and record producer Eminem was at one point the proud owner of a new 1999 Mustang Convertible, which he purchased shortly after gaining fame and fortune. Rumor has it he sold the vehicle a few years later to a 12 year old preteen. American DJ and hip hop rapper Funkmaster Flex from NY’s Hot 97 radio station obviously prefers “Pony Power” to other vehicles as he owns two 2006 Mustang GTs, both of which have been customized to personal specifications. Taking into consideration the awesome attributes that Mustangs have to offer, it’s no wonder celebrities (and non-celebrities alike) are attracted to this iconic vehicle.
